So it turns out that ExternalInterface built into Flash 8 isn't so easy after all. After about a day of looking and tweaking, I have it working on all the browsers Adobe say's it should. I've personally tested this on the following browsers and it worked.

  • IE 6
  • Firefox 1.5
  • Mozilla 1.7.12
  • Netscape 8.1
• Mac
  • Safari 1.2, 1.3 & 2.0
  • Firefox 1.0 & 1.5
  • Mozilla 1.7.12
